Squeaky Kate Music was set up in 2006 to record and promote the music of composer Colin and Riley and associated groups. 2006 saw the release of three distinctive albums to unanimous critical acclaim showcasing Riley’s earlier work. With current work following new directions his upcoming albums place his work firmly at the cutting edge of a new wave of 'integrated’ music. The debut album Fold CRCD04 from his new band MooV fuses electronica, improvisation, and scored chamber music into down-tempo songs, breaking all the barriers that might still exist is some people’s ears. Remixed elements from this album will also be available as special downloads. A follow-up album from MooV is planned for 2009 as well as an instrumental CD of his latest work with ongoing collaborators.

Tracks have recently featured on BBC Radio 3’s Late Junction and Classic FM’s Chiller Cabinet, and his recent work covered in diverse publications such as Jazzwise, Classical Music, Gig Magazine, Soundgenerator, BBC Music Magazine, the Guardian, Time Out, What’s On, New Notes, and Classic Source.

'Composer Colin Riley has launched a label, Squeaky Kate Music, with three discs that display different aspects of his attractive and versatile musical voice. Operating outside of genre associations, mingling classical music with electronica, jazz and rock, he describes his style as 'distilled’ rather than 'eclectic’, and one of the pleasures of listening to all three discs together is how clearly Riley’s distinctive voice emerges. A striking set of discs whose quality promises much for the future, any of which is recommended to connoisseurs of sophisticated new music. Performances and recordings throughout all three discs are excellent, revealing classy and painstaking attention to detail.'
